Outdoor Sung Eucharist, Drinks, and Supper for the Feast of the Annunciation of Our Lord Outdoor Sung Eucharist, Drinks, and Supper for the Feast of the Annunciation of Our Lord The Feast of the Annunciation of Our Lord to the Blessed Virgin Mary traditionally marks (roughly) the vernal equinox and thus the beginning of spring. The 6pm Eucharist, sung by St John's professional choir, is celebrated at the Altar in St John's Colony Garden, a 'hidden' garden not normally open to the public. Entrance to the garden is signed at the Horsewalk adjacent to 224 West 11th Street. Following the Eucharist we repair to the main part of St Benedict's Courtyard for drinks (soft drinks and wine) and a buffet supper. Eucharist, Drinks, and Supper are, of course, free, but registration is necessary for catering purposes. You must be fully-vaccinated to attend. As this event is outdoors face-coverings are optional. (The weather forecast predicts 58 degrees F and a dry evening with the morning showers having cleared by the late afternoon. However, in the event of wet weather the Eucharist will be celebrated in the church and drinks served under cover in the courtyard.)
