Description

LOWER MAKFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Closures and detours on Woodside Road near the Scudder Falls Bridge are set to begin on Wednesday. The shutdown of the road had originally been scheduled for Tuesday, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission said. The closures will be between River Road (PA Rt. 32) and the Delaware Canal. They will allow work crews to build a planned wetlands mitigation area that's part of the Scudder Falls Bridge replacement project. Construction work on an entry-exit to an access ramp to the new bridge's walkway also may take place during the closures. Woodside Road between the Delaware Canal and River Road (PA Rt. 32) will be closed and detoured from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, through Friday, July 10. Affected motorists are advised to use posted detours at Mt. Eyre Road to the north and East Afton Avenue (PA Rt. 332) as connection points between River Road and Taylorsville Road. Drivers in the area are encouraged to allow extra time and to reduce speeds when traveling through work areas. For more information on the Scudder Falls Bridge replacement project, you may visit its website. Below is a detour map for Woodside Road:
