FALLSINGTON, PA — On what should have been their graduation day, Pennsbury High School seniors were getting some special nods on Wednesday. Originally scheduled for Wednesday at Falcon Field, commencement ceremonies were canceled due the coronavirus shutdown. But the faculty, staff and administrators at Pennsbury High, with help from the school's PTO and student council, were carrying out special events for seniors instead. Gift bags with a few surprises and special messages were being hand-delivered to each senior's home Wednesday morning. Wednesday afternoon, a plane hauling a banner celebrating the class of 2020 made its way through the skies throughout the district. At 6 p.m. Wednesday, a special, pre-recorded broadcast is planned on the Pennsbury Cable TV Channel (Comcast 28, Verizon 42) to honor the seniors and mark the date. Officials say plans are still in the works for a live commencement ceremony at Falcon Field, possibly in late July. More details will be shared as they are nailed down.
