Makin’ Seitan Bac’n with Cauldron Collective!
In this intimate culinary demonstration with Olive Cooke, Sylvia Metta, and Kim Conyers from Cauldron Collective, learn how to make amazing tasting meat substitutes at home! We’ll be focusing on how to make vegan bacon, showing all the different ways you can achieve the flavor and texture you like best. We’ll be making plant-based BLTs, some lemonade to wash it down, and providing your own at home seitan making kits too!
Cauldron Collective is Kansas City’s very first worker owned food business, working to improve the conditions of the restaurant industry for everyone. The chefs cook entirely vegan with a focus on plant-based comfort foods. They’ve been featured in Feast, The Pitch, Startland, In Kansas City and more and pop-up every Monday at The Ship in the West Bottoms of KC.
The Museum is proud to offer intimate culinary programs in Café at 3218. Café at 3218 brings people together to enjoy a seasonal menu (coming in summer 2022) and participate in culinary programs including cooking demonstrations and classes. Café at 3218 encourages everyone to have a seat at the table, celebrating community and sharing the recipes, stories, and histories that nourish us.
