Join the Haunted Nights Crew along with the Wraith Chasers, Chris Smith & Mike G, for a night of haunts at the Missouri State Penitentiary Who's ready to experience a HAUNTED NIGHT in prison? Although this will be a return visit for our special guests the Wraith Chasers, this will be the first time the Haunted Nights Crew has stepped foot inside the infamous MSP!!! We are very excited to be making the journey from Virginia to investigate with you!!! Here's your chance to join in on an evening full of investigations and some of the most haunted spots in the Penitentiary!!! Once named the “The bloodiest 47 acres in America”, The Missouri State Penitentiary (MSP) opened in 1836 along the banks of the Missouri River in Jefferson City, Missouri, the state capital. The prison housed inmates for 168 years and was the oldest continually operating prison west of the Mississippi until it was decommissioned in 2004. Not only did MSP house infamous male prisoners such as James Earl Ray, Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd, and Charles "Sonny" Liston, but it housed infamous female prisoners as well such as Emma Goldman and Katie Richards O'Hare. In September of1937, the Pen began carrying out executions by the form of Lethal Gas. Missouri was a state that supported the Death Penalty so during the period of 1937 to 1989, a total of 40 inmates with crimes ranging from murder to brutal rapes were put to death in the gas chamber. 2 of the most well known executions were of Bonnie B Heady and Carl Austin Hall. Heady & Carl Austin Hall kidnapped a young boy named Bobby Greenlease. They demanded $600,000 in ransom, at the time the largest ransom in the history of the nation, which was paid. Unknown to the family, Heady & Hall had already killed and buried Bobby soon after the abduction. The judge who sentenced Heady & Carl called it the “most cold-blooded, brutal murder” he had ever tried. They were executed side by side. Heady was the only woman to be executed in the gas chamber. From Riots, to inmate murders, to numerous escapes, this Penitentiary has earned it's reputation as the Bloodiest 47 Acres in America!!! Saturday Nights Activities ***Light snacks and beverages will be available*** 6:00pm - Registration6:30pm - Intro, Rules & Regs, and Historical Presentation7:00pm - Q&A with the Wraith Chasers7:45pm - Break before Investigation Begins8:00pm - Investigation begins1:00am - Exit PropertyThere will be 5, 45 minute investigation rotations with a 15 minute break in-between. This will give us an ending investigation time of 12:45am, and allow us to exit the building promptly by 1:00am. ***Event times are subject to change*** ***This event will take place rain or shine*** All attendees will sign both event/location waivers before entering the building. ALCHOHOL is not allowed in the event area or buildings. Smoking is only allowed in the designated smoking areas.
