Description
Hey there! Forming gothic powerpop stoner outfit w/ shades of emo, garage, noise, jangle, shoegaze and accidental jazz. Hopefully they’ll be “songs”at heart, and usually have a groove! And they will always be a little weird. I Mainly play guitar and can try to( but don’t have to) vocalize. I’m vaxxed, have valued day job, and expect all bandmembers to be fully vaxxed as well. I have a several songs, some fully developed / performed in public; I am very open to collaborating and maybe using other members’ material, that could be ideal... Seeking a solid drummer, dedicated bassist, possibly singer/ contributing lyricist and maybe a synth / co-guitarist to help fill out the sound- project will be generally more guitar driven. Someone with at least backup vocal ability would be great. I am not a robotic or technical or even a skilled player(hah!) nor a fly surgeon- slop remains my forte. Seeking folks who enjoy each others company, preferably near N Seattle ( I‘m in Ravenna), can commit to rehearsing or at least “jamming” normally every 1-2 weeks. This should be fun or else! No extremists, flakes, drug addicts, prima donnas or practicing alcoholics. A beer or a puff is fine.. Ideally others might also bring relevant song or lyric material to the table sooner or later. This is not a drinking project nor a virtue exhibition. Please be prepared to practice material on your own as needed when we find a potential “keeper” Must have own transpo/gear. I have bass amp and top- shelf electronic drum kit at my decently- appointed but small home space. Plan and be able to “ go in” on or share another space that accommodates acoustic drums and full volume. **Goal is developing original songs, recording them in “ live” fashion, and maybe play out locally every couple “normal” months. Age range ideally 30-60 Some inspirations: Talking Heads, REM, VU, Deerhoof, Joy Division, Smiths, Mac Demarco, Robyn Hitchcock, RBCF, Television, Carwyn Ellis, Devo, Dry Cleaning You can hear some past stuff in my previous band on FB and: ghostvessels.bandcamp.com. I can share more developing stuff perhaps. If interested, please share some (any:) example of your current or past stuff, in any form, for chance of a response, and thanks for reading:) Brett
