SARASOTA-BRADENTON, FL — The Florida Sheriff's Association is asking for people to vote for their favorite K9 officer in Florida. Vinnie with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office and Bryx with the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office advanced through the first round of the agency's K9 March Madness Tournament on Facebook into round two, the Sweet 16. More than 65,000 people cast their vote during the first round on March 17, according to the FSA Facebook page. Vote for either Vinnie or Bryx by hitting the "love" reaction on their photo at the Florida Sheriff's Association Facebook page here. This second round of voting lasts until Wednesday at 3 p.m. Bryx is up against the Flagler County Sheriff's Office's K9, Odin. SCSO said supporters should vote for Bryx for the following reasons because he's "super cute" and loves peanut butter cake. Bryx also was named 2019's Hardest Hitting Dog during the Florida Gulf Coast K9 Competition and has served in Sarasota County for eight years, "alongside his partner, Deputy Chris Indico, who is equally as cool," the agency said on Facebook. Vinnie is up against K9 Junny from the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. "Let's show him even more "love" by sending him to the Elite 8!" MCSO wrote on Facebook.
