CUDAHY, WI — Police arrested two men on Tuesday morning after a vehicle sped away from an attempted traffic stop in Cudahy. A gun was fired from the fleeing vehicle during a pursuit, and the vehicle eventually crashed in St. Francis, according to a news release from the Cudahy Police Department. The pursuit started around 1:40 a.m. on the 5400 block of Packard Avenue, which is when Cudahy police say they tried to stop the vehicle for speeding, but the vehicle fled and police started a pursuit. The passenger of the fleeing vehicle, a 26-year-old Green Bay man, fired the shots during the pursuit, but nobody was injured, police said. The fleeing vehicle crashed in St. Francis near South Lake Drive and Packard Avenue, where the driver, a 50-year-old Milwaukee man, was arrested, police said. The passenger ran away from the vehicle after the crash, police said in the news release, but around 7 a.m. he was found and arrested. Police say they found weapons and ammunition in the vehicle. Police said an initial assessment found the bullets fired from the passenger hit his own vehicle. Police from St. Francis, South Milwaukee, Oak Creek, Greendale and Milwaukee helped during the pursuit. The Wisconsin State Patrol, FBI and Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office also helped, Cudahy police said. Cudahy police have asked anyone with information to call them at 414-769-2260.
