MILWAUKEE, WI — A 3-month-old baby boy reported missing Wednesday was found safe, the Milwaukee Police Department announced. Anthony Crudup Jr. was found safe around 1:45 p.m., police said in a statement. Police had issued an Amber Alert, which is now canceled. Crudup's mother told police she had let a group of people stay over at her house, and when she woke up they were gone with the boy, Milwaukee Police Inspector Paul Lough said at a news conference. Police haven't named the group of people who took Crudup. "We're using every available resource to locate Anthony at this time," Lough said. "We could use every bit of assistance from the public and community groups available." Police found Vonaisha Washington, 15, who they believed was travelling with Crudup but discovered she wasn't involved in his disappearance. The baby went missing around 12:30 a.m. near N. 43rd Street and W. Marion Street in Milwaukee, police said. Residents with information are urged to call the Milwaukee Police Department at 414-935-7405. Correction: A previous version of this story stated that Anthony Crudup Jr. is 3 years old. The story has been corrected to say Crudup Jr. is 3 months old.
