NEW LONDON, CT — Three people are temporarily displaced from their home after a fire spread up the exterior of the house, according to The New London Day. Firefighters responded to the call at 32 Ashcroft St. at about 3 p.m. Monday. Fire officials said the fire started in a plastic refuse container at the home's rear, then spread up the vinyl siding to the roof. The American Red Cross is helping the two adults and one child with emergency needs, according to The New London Day. The fire is under investigation.
