MATTAPAN, MA — Transit police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting incident that happened on an MBTA bus Monday. Ricardo Blake, 35, of Mattapan was taken into custody just after 11:30 a.m. near 16000 Hyde Park Ave. after a days-long investigation. Police say Blake was taken to Transit Police Department Headquarters for booking. Blake will face firearm-related charges and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. On Monday, officers responded to the area of 943 Morton Street after receiving a report of a person shot while on the bus around 10:25 a.m. Once police got to the scene, they say they found a 30-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to the hospital with what police are calling non-life-threatening injuries. As of Wednesday afternoon, there has been no update on the victim's condition. A spokesperson from the Boston Police Department says they believe there was a verbal argument on the bus before shots were fired.
