STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Several lanes of Interstate 95 southbound were shut down in Stafford County on Wednesday morning, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. Officials said a tractor trailer overturned and caught fire near exit 136.
Around 11 a.m., transportation officials said that all lanes were open.
The tractor trailer overturned near Centreport Parkway at exit 136, VDOT said on social media.
The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police said. The tractor-trailer ran off the side of the road and struck a guard rail. The impact caused the tractor-trailer to overturn and catch fire, Virginia State Police said.

All traffic on I-95 southbound in the area is being detoured to Route 1. Drivers can get back on I-95's southbound lanes at Route 17. VDOT officials noted that delays would continue on I-95 and Route 1.
At 10:40 a.m., VDOT officials said that there was a 6-mile backup on I-95.
