YORKVILLE, IL — The Yorkville Police Department is reminding drivers of a couple of traffic safety tips as the highest number of traffic crashes this year in Yorkville happened at the intersection of Route 126 and Route 47. According to police, there have been 25 crashes to date this year, and most these crashes were rear-end collisions involving cars waiting to turn right on red.
Police ask that you please avoid following the car in front of you too closely, and to make sure the car in front of you has cleared the intersection before you drive forward.
