BURNSVILLE, MN — The City of Burnsville announced that it is searching for election judges for the upcoming elections.
This is a paid position. Election judges will make $12/hour and chair judges will make $15/hour, the city said. There will also be a 2-3 hour paid training for these positions, according to the city.
Time commitment on Election Day is up to the applicant, the city said.
Duties include:
Greeting votersDirecting trafficMaking sure voters are in the right precinctSigning in/registering votersProvide and explain ballotsOversee ballot counter and hand out "I Voted" stickersSet up and close down polling placesCertify polling place resultsManage polling place (Co-Chair)In order to qualify, you must be eligible to vote and fluent in English, the city said. You can't be married, related to, or live with a candidate, or married or related to an election judge in the same precinct, the city said.
