LONG VALLEY, NJ - Federal, county and local authorities arrested a 39-year-old Hackettstown man in Washington Township and charged him possession and intent to distribute illegal narcotics,f ollowing an investigation into the delivery of controlled dangerous substances via the United States Postal Service. John Geiger was arrested on Sept. 2 after a joint investigation by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, the Washington Township Police Department and the United States Postal Inspection Service, authorities said. This investigation culminated on Sept. when law enforcement officers from multiple agencies executed two search warrants in Washington Township which resulted in the seizure of approximately 45 grams of cocaine, approximately 97 pills of suspected alprazolam (Xanax), two vials of suspected anabolic steroids, and approximately seven grams of suspected methamphetamine, authorities said. The methamphetamine was intercepted by the United States Postal Service, authorities said. Geiger was charged with the following: 1 count of Second-Degree Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute1 count of Third-Degree Possession of Alprazolam with Intent to Distribute1 count of Third-Degree Possession of Methamphetamine1 count of Third-Degree Possession of Cocaine1 count of Third-Degree Possession of Steroids1 count of Fourth-Degree Possession With Intent to Distribute Drug Paraphernalia1 count of Disorderly Persons Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Geiger is currently being supervised by probation and is currently a Somerset County Drug Court participant, authorities said.
