ROSWELL, GA — The Roswell home of late Georgia Tech and NFL star Demaryius Thomas was broken into recently, according to a USA Today report.
Police found at least eight people in the house on March 13, and a police report filed by Thomas' mother says that memorabilia is missing. The missing items include Thomas' 2012 ESPY Award he shared with quarterback Tim Tebow for "Best Moment" as well as a signed Tom Brady jersey, a hyperbaric chamber, guns and several thousand dollars in cash, according to the report.
Three people were charged with criminal trespass: Vashone Jones, 29; Perfect Robinson, 27; and Malcom Daniels, 30. Daniels was also arrested for possession of cocaine, according to the report.
Thomas' mother was notified people were in the house when she saw posts from his friends' social media accounts.
Thomas was found dead in his home in December after he suffered what authorities believe was a seizure.
The longtime Denver Broncos star had retired from the NFL in June and was weeks shy of his 34th birthday when he died. Family members said he had been suffering seizures for nearly a year.
Thomas was a third-team All-American at Georgia Tech and was selected 22nd overall by the Broncos in the 2010 NFL Draft. In nine NFL seasons, including seven-plus with Denver followed by short stints with the Houston Texans and New York Jets, Thomas recorded 724 receptions for 9,763 yards and 63 touchdowns. He was a two-time second team All-Pro and was named to the Pro Bowl four times.
