Press release from the Tuscaloosa County Government: March 22, 2022 Entering kindergarten is an exciting milestone for a student and their family. We welcome next year's kindergarten students and their families to the Tuscaloosa County School System! Children who will be five years of age on or before September 2, 2022 are eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year. We invite our incoming kindergarten students and their families to visit your local elementary school on Thursday, April 7, 2022, anytime between 8 am and 4 pm. This will be an exciting day for our schools to meet their incoming students and families! On April 7, please bring a copy of the following documents to the school: Student's Proof of Birth/Birth CertificateCurrent State of Alabama Immunization Documentation (Blue Card)Two Proofs of Residency in the Parent or Legal Guardian's Name – Mortgage or Lease Agreement AND Current Utility Bill (Showing Physical Address)Parent or Legal Guardian's Photo ID If you are unable to visit your school on April 7, you may come to the school on another day to bring the documents listed above. Please bring your student with you, so they can see their new school! In addition to visiting your school, all incoming kindergarten students must complete online registration. The online registration portal for new students will be open soon. The link will be posted on this page when the portal is open. You may complete online registration prior to visiting your school on April 7. If you have questions, please contact your local elementary school.
