ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Nassau County police have identified the man who was killed after being struck by a motorcycle on March 19.
According to police, a 36-year-old man was driving a 2020 BMW motorcycle east on Merrick Road at 11:53 p.m. when he hit 42-year-old Scott Brower, of Rockville Centre, who was crossing the road near North Forest Avenue. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle, and the motorcycle then hit a 2012 Honda Civic, which was also heading east on Merrick Road.
The two men both suffered multiple traumatic injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital. Brower died from his injuries at 1:40 a.m. The motorcyclist is in serious condition.
The driver of the Honda was not injured, and remained at the scene. Police say the Honda was given a brake and safety check at the scene. The motorcycle was impounded.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
