This position involves connecting with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated citizens throughout the state of Maine and assisting them in achieving and maintaining a successful reintegration back into Maine's communities. Must be able to approach client interactions in nonjudgmental, positive ways, demonstrate a willingness to help all MPRN clients achieve their re-entry and recovery goals, and maintain rapport with Maine Department of Corrections staff, our clientele and our resource partners within the community. Reports To: Assistant Executive Director Job Duties: • Facilitate meetings over Zoom, both pre- and post-release, between clients and community resource partners • Identify, brainstorm and encourage client re-entry plans • Identify, invite and oversee community resource partners to help enact re-entry plans • Perform research on clients' behalf regarding a wide array of topics • Fully document all client and community interactions • Recruit new community partners by presenting MPRN values and philosophies to community members and organizations • Rotating on-call work being available to take calls from clients in crisis • Other duties as identified by direct supervisor Job Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: • Ability to work independently • Professional online presence and courteous conversational skills • Proper syntax and grammar ability for documentation • Passion for helping others to succeed • Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and adapt appropriately • A good sense of humor! Job Details: • This is a salaried position. After a twelve week evaluation/training period, the salary will be $38,000 per year. Because this position is grant funded, the salary is non-negotiable. • A typical work week will be thirty-six hours, usually 8 AM - 4PM, Monday through Thursday, and 10 AM - 2 PM on Friday. The nature of the position will occasionally require work outside those hours, including rotating on-call work one week per month taking calls from clients in crisis. • Job benefits include health insurance and one week's paid vacation after the probationary period. • This is largely a work-from-home, telecommuting position, although periodic long-distance travel within the state of Maine is required (typically about once a week, usually to the Maine State Prison in Warren). Applicants must provide their own stable high-speed internet connection and have a reasonably quiet space where confidential information can be discussed over Zoom without being overheard. MPRN will provide company computer and phone equipment for use. • Given the nature of the position, lived experience with incarceration and/or substance use and at least one year of successful recovery/reentry is strongly preferred. However, lack of a criminal history will not necessarily be a disqualification for employment.
