Hey friends, My name is JD and I'm a 34 year old brewery and basketball lover. I'm originally from Cleveland, OH (Go Cavs!) and have been in Portland for the last 3.5 years. I used to play basketball competitively in high school and have sporadically played in competitive rec leagues ever since. I'm in the brewing industry for work and at this point, I am just an aspiring home-brewer... Calling on all PDX brewers out there! I'm hoping there's a demographic of brewers that love to talk shop and also love to ball. As I aim to combine two of my main interests, this could mean simply joining up at outdoor/indoor courts for pickup games. It could also mean finding a rec league and developing a team, which I would love to do and is what initially inspired me to create this post. I'm sure we could find a local brewery to sponsor team fees/jerseys as well and we could enjoy their craft bevs after dominating the court. Hoping this resonates with some of you.
