A growing energy conservation services company is hiring technicians to perform home energy upgrades in Virginia across the Appalachian Power service territory. Through your work, you will be saving people hundreds of dollars on their energy bills and reducing energy waste. Compensation: generous per-unit compensation (our full-time technicians average over $200/day and peak at over $400/day depending on the number of appointments they schedule a day and how many improvements can be made in the house. The technician gets compensated for the completion of each home (the more energy products were installed, the higher the payment per house). Training will be paid on an hourly basis. Location: We are looking to hire a technician in the Roanoke area. Travel: must have reliable personal vehicle and drivers’ license (company vehicle is not provided) in order to drive to customer appointments. Hours: This can be conceived as a part-time position, though you will have considerable flexibility in your hours since you set your own appointments with customers. Weekend work is available though not required. Depending on the number of appointment requests we receive, full-time hours may not always be possible. Paid training is provided. Job Flow: 1. Technicians are provided with a list of customers who request to receive a Home Energy Assessment which is paid for by their utility company. Technicians have control over their own schedule and work flow by scheduling the appointments directly with the customers. 2. Technicians will conduct a brief assessment of the customer's home and fill out home energy survey forms 3. Energy efficiency measures will be installed at the customer’s home by the technicians, such as LED bulbs, showerheads, faucet aerators, basic weatherization, caulking and more etc. 4. Technicians will educate customers on other helpful methods to save energy and money Paid training will be provided. Job Requirements: The applicant will have to pass a test about basic building efficiency etc. which is required by the utility (Zerodraft will provide study materials and cover the cost for the training and certification).
