The Eugene-based nonprofit, Cascadia Quest, has an outdoor, community-held event for the visceral expression of grief.
We are hosting a grieving ceremony outside of Eugene this April 9 - 10.
It includes time in small groups for processing, a talk on the types and expressions of grief, large group connective activities, and multiple deep dives into grieving as a community at an altar we build together.
There is a tremendous benefit for people to be able to grieve in a facilitated, community setting that provides witness and space for the impolite expressions of sorrow, anger, fear, frustration, and despair.
We would like to be able to serve those who have been suffering deeply from the isolation of the pandemic, death, illness, climate change fears, past traumas, relationship changes, and other losses. We have a tiered equity pricing system in place so that money will not be an obstacle.
Folks can register and read more on our website at cascadiaquest.org/grieving-ceremonies.
