CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Case of COVID-19 in Chester County rose from 1,170 last week to 1,465 as of Friday, according to the state health department.
Pennsylvania's Department Health updated the COVID-19 dashboard Friday afternoon, showing 295 positive cases added in Chester County in the last seven days.
Chester County's incidence rate per 100,000 resident rose from 224.1 to 280.6 in the last week, the state reported.
The county's positivity rate also rose in the last week. It went from 7.9 to 10.2 percent between Nov. 27 and Dec. 4.
Hospitalizations rose from 70 to 89 across Chester County, the DOH reported Friday, and in the last week, on average, there were two more county residents required to be on ventilators.
The only metric the state health department reports that went down this week for Chester County is the percent of hospital emergency room visits that are for "COVID-like illness." That percentage slipped from 2.4 to 2.2 percent, for the most current week.
