Recruiting for RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) Volunteers age 55+ This volunteer position will assist with a wide range of projects related to business management, administration and operations. This volunteer work is designed to be both educational and practical. The volunteer will learn how to take skills they may have acquired in school or elsewhere related to their particular areas of interest, and apply them in a professional setting. Depending upon ability, need and interest, some areas we need help with are as follows: General business office work to include: Answering multi-line phones Copying and faxing General business assistance at senior center General assistance with serving meals at meal sites Hep with meal sites preparation and clean-up May help with light facility maintenance and Educational projects/training if KWA can meet the request Position Requirements: Must have good interpersonal, organizations and communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Proficient in MS Office Suite, e.g. Power Point, Excel, WORD, etc. Ability to work in an office environment; write, speak, understand; communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position. Problem solving, interpret instructions furnished to you in written, verbal, diagrammatic or schedule form. Data entry, ability to pay close attention to detail and accurately distinguish data, ability to complete forms and record and locate data accurately. **************************************************************** INFORMATION ABOUT RSVP (Retired and Senior Program) for ages 55+ The AmeriCorps RSVP is the nation's largest network for volunteers age 55 and older. The growing segment of our older population is vital to strengthening our communities through their interest in helping others. As an RSVP volunteer, you are strengthening the positive impact people 55 and over have in our communities. Our focus is to incorporate meaningful volunteer opportunities that provide purpose and a way to give back to the community. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers as it matches their personal interests with opportunities to serve in their communities. Current RSVP volunteer positions include local food banks, congregate meal sites, non-profit thrift stores (shopping assistants, sorters, warehouse assistant, furniture assemblers in a fully equipped build shop), reading/enrichment/tutoring/ mentorship groups, museums, and administrative positions throughout the Greater Tacoma, Puyallup, Graham, Lakewood and Gig Harbor Peninsula. We are continually bringing on new and unique volunteer opportunities that help our community.
