Description
I am a guitarist/songwriter/producer in my mid 50s looking to collaborate with a male lead vocalist for original material in the style of 70s/80s heavy rock/prog rock in the style of Kansas, Queensryche, early Rainbow, Rush, Dream Theater, etc. Music is generally heavily guitar oriented, but also has some milder influences such as Yes, King Crimson, ELP as well. My other influences include Michael Schenker/UFO, Boston, April Wine, Styx, Foreigner, Shooting Star and heavier bands like Priest/Maiden/Sabbath/Dio/Ozzy etc..
I have a handful of fully written songs that just need a killer vocal to complete them. I also have several other partially finished songs that I would like to finish co-write with another person.
The goal is to just create and put out some great music with no expectations of forming a band or making any serious money from it. But...you never know what can happen.
I have been doing some collaborations with a few other musicians (keys, violin, backing vocals) but need a strong male voice to be front and center for this music - preferably someone who also plays an instrument and has a strong foundation in music theory. Range should be comfortable for that genre, but I'm not expecting Geddy Lee like highs, Bon Scott like growling, or Jon Anderson cleans...anywhere in the middle ground would be the sound I'm looking for.
I have a small home studio to be able to record, or can work with someone remotely who has the ability to record vocal parts on their own.
If this sounds like a fun side project, please respond with links to examples of your singing and original songs if any, and I will reply with same.
