Description

This is Sadie a 4-5 year old UNVACCINATE and INTACT cattle dog. **Please READ CAREFULLY*** *****She would be best with an EXPERIENCED owner who understands CATTLE DOGS** We took her in temporarily 12/6,2021 for a friend who can no longer keep pets and had to sign a new lease this month because she can’t find a place affordable to rent that allows for pets. So, Sadie is now officially our dog, but unfortunately we can not keep her. Sadie is energetic, happy, loving, very smart, active, and playful. She is eager to please and learn although she is a bit hyper. Sadie loves women and is great with kids. I have 7 kids of my own ranging in age from 7-18. She has also been around the 8 month baby and her 2 ½ year old sister that I babysit. She also does great with cats; male and female (we have 4 cats). She is nervous around and barks at men. She will eventually settle down and let them pet her, but it takes 20-30 minutes. She has gotten used to my older boys and no longer barks at them, but any other men that come over, she barks; even if they have been to our house before. I have not taken her to parks no on car rides. She does not show signs of food aggression but she does get VERY excited and jumps up on me when I bring her food. She is getting better at not jumping up on me and others but she stills has some growth to do in this area. She is VERY aggressive with female dogs and has attacked our small adult female terrier 3 times. She seems fine with our Shi Tzu puppy, but we don't let around the puppy much because it’s just too risky. I have not seen her around male dogs but was told she does fine with them. She and my dogs have to be kept separate because of this. When she is crated or left outside alone, she has destroyed 2 doors, trim and drywall. She is now kept in my bedroom where I am in and out and does ok in there when we are gone. It’s very stressful and has been a bit traumatic for my dog and my children. I know it’s not her fault and I know she is a really good dog, but I also know that I can not provide for her needs and the needs of my own dogs as well as my children. Being a cattle dog, she needs activities, stimuli and an owner who understands her needs and can provide for them. I have reached out to a few cattle dog rescues and unless she is at the county shelter in danger of being euthanized, they don’t accept them from private owners. I hate to risk her potentially being euthanized so I am reaching out to the community to try to find her a new home. Please contact me by text, email or phone.
