Strafford Adjusting is a family-owned company that specializes in public adjusting and construction work on residential homes in the Chicago suburb area. We have been in business for over 12 years with over 1000 homes successfully constructed and repaired. We are looking for a motivated, reliable, detail oriented individual to fill a residential roofer role. Because of our reputation for quality craftsmanship and customer service, this will be a full time, year round position. We are looking for self starting individuals who take pride in their work and have a solid work ethic. We are currently looking for experienced roofers who are quality minded, efficient, safety conscious and also have leadership qualities. Responsibilities for roofers will include: - Installing asphalt and cedar shake shingles - Installing various flashings such as step flashing, chimney/brick flashing, valleys, etc - Doing your job in a timely manner, be quality minded, safety conscious - The ability to interact well with customers - Reliable transportation to the shop - Qualifications and skills for experienced roofers: - 2-10 years experience in removing and installing asphalt and cedar shake roofing products - Skilled in brake operation a plus - Knowledge of power tools, including saws, sawzall, pneumatic nailers - Possession of basic hand tools and some power tools - Capable of climbing on ladders and carrying up to 70lbs - Comfortable with heights Pay is based on skill and experience.
