Retail Assembly Crew Captain

Jobs

Birmingham AL

Description

RESPONSIBILITIES: Crew Captains are responsible for certifying new technicians in all the processes of assembly while working in conjunction with M&C local Area Managers to appropriately staff and monitor and measure technician performance while providing feedback and coaching. The focus of the Crew Captain should be to get stores in compliance as well as certifying techs to be permanently assigned to a store. Crew Captains are not on a fixed schedule nor at a fixed location but rather are utilized in locations that need additional support to meet their assembly requests, or locations that need a permanent tech to be placed. M&C’s Crew Captains should also be continually seeking opportunities for developing tech production skills, improving awareness and tech work quality, in order to ensure client satisfaction. OVERSIGHT: Crew Captains should always have a least one person on their crew and may have as many as 10. Those crew members are not helpers but independent assembly technicians that must be on-boarded through M&C's onboarding system. The Crew Captain is responsible for all aspects of quality of assembly of the crew they oversee; including but not limited to on-boarding, inspecting and repairs. During assembly events, the crew captain should inspect every assembled unit to ensure that it is built properly, ensuring all the parts are intact and the product is ready for consumer use. Crew Captains also coordinate with stores, assembly techs, and the M&C local Area Manager to identify damaged grills, create damage reports, possibly order parts and monitor orders, and ensure that, when parts arrive, the grills are quickly repaired by assembly techs or by the crew captain. GOALS: Volume production is the main goal and responsibility of the Crew Captain. An additional goal is the on-boarding of techs and having them learn to operate efficiently and quickly to maximize building potential. REQUIREMENTS: Crew Captains are required to be checked in to the store events a minimum of 25 hours weekly unless PTO is requested. Travel is required within the radius defined by the local M&C Area Manager. Must have reliable transportation, car insurance and a valid driver’s license. Must wear company shirts (request as needed).
