Dozens Cited During Woodridge Police Halloween Traffic Campaign

WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge police carried out 24 hours of extra enforcement during the recent Halloween traffic safety campaign effort, resulting in dozens of citations. According to a news release from the Woodridge Police Department, police issued 49 citations including 21 for seat belt and child safety seat violations. The enforcement campaign began Oct. 17 and ran through Monday. During the Halloween traffic safety enforcement campaign, law enforcement agencies throughout the state participated in an effort to save lives by getting impaired drivers off the roads, and more people buckled up, according to the news release. The recent campaign is part of the statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns, and was made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), according to police.
