WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge School District 68 students and staff will start the 2020-2021 school year with remote learning. According to district documents, a future phased-in approach to some in-person instruction would be determined as more information becomes available regarding health risks. According to district officials, the first day of school will now be Aug. 20 so that staff can have an additional day of professional development, adding that the last day of school remains unchanged. "This was not an easy decision, with no perfect answer," District 68 Superintendent Patrick J. Broncato said, in a letter to district families. Broncato added that the district already started work on a remote learning plan for a portion of our students, which is now being modified for all students and will be shared soon. "This will not be the remote learning your student experienced this spring when things were moving so quickly and school districts had little to no time to plan and prepare," Broncato said, in the letter.
