WOODRIDGE, IL —Several Woodridge School District 68 students and staff will start returning to in-person learning Thursday nearly three weeks after the Board of Education voted during a special meeting to move the district to a hybrid model with a remote option. The hybrid model with remote only option will begin Thursday with Group A, followed by Group B on Friday, according to the district. According to a letter sent to District 68 families on Oct. 1, Superintendent Dr. Patrick Broncato said students who choose the hybrid option will attend school in-person two days a week (Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday), with remote learning the other three days. If the district needs to return to full remote learning according to public health guidelines, the district "would most likely not revisit the issue" until the beginning of the second semester. Their decision will last through December, and the district needs to be notified of any requests to change for the second half of school by Dec. 1, according to the letter.
