"Across-Generations: Black Terp Existence at the University of Maryland."
Join University of Maryland's African American Digital Humanities (AADHUM), the Libraries Special Collections and University Archives, and the Nyumburu Cultural Center for "Across-Generations: Black Terp Existence at the University of Maryland." We are bringing together a nine-member alumni panel that represents four decades of experience. Speakers will share recollections of segregated spaces, their thoughts on the importance of engaging in Black joy, and more. This inaugural event kicks off the Black Experience project at the University of Maryland, part of the Reparative Oral Histories Initiative aimed at archiving and documenting Black life at UMD.
This project is supported, in part, by the Postdoctoral Fellowship Program of the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR). The grant program is made possible by funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
