The Paddle the Canal Challenge is a family friendly canoes, kayak, SUPs and/or small sailboat race across Hood Canal.
Boats launch off the beach at the Hoodsport Marina and cross the Canal following a parade of vessels to Tahuya, on the far shore (about 5 miles). Vessels are followed by safety boats.

Day of Race:
May 15 | 11:00 am. | On-site registration for Paddle the Canal Challenge begins. Food vendors at the Hoodsport dock are open. Local oysters and Scandinavian specialties are on the menu. The Aquavit Grotto (21+), serving cocktails, is open.
12:30 pm. | PARADE
1:00 pm | At the Hoodsport dock, the barrel of Aquavit on the Twanoh will set sail.
Paddle the Canal participants follow the Twanoh.
2:00 pm (approximately) The Twanoh returns to the Hoodsport dock.Paddle the Canal participants return to the beach. Awards ceremony and prizes for Paddle the Canal.
2:30 – 5:00 pm Post-party in Hoodsport.
