Celebrate movement with live world music and guided movement ecstatic dance experience. Have the last two year gotten you into a rut? Disrupt your patterns and FEEL your edge!Live percussion drives guided movement to align you with your SOUL in this dance movement experience. For decades, Gina has led yoga and group fitness classes and she melds her passion for world music and dance into this African dance inspired session. Master percussionists, Andy Skellenger and Gilly Gonzalez, will drive the rhythm and take you on an improvisational journey where movement meets Spirit. Gina will guide participants for the first part of class, eventually unleashing you to your own journey. We will wind down with some restorative yoga, so please bring a favorite blanket and perhaps a pillow too. Doors will open at 6:30 pm. Dress comfortably in clothes you love to move in. Wear something that inspires you to dance. Snacks will be provided. Please bring water. Each participant will have the opportunity to take a professional photo honoring them as a positive leader in Denver in the upcoming book 'Movers & Shakers Edition of Denver' Gilly Gonzalez is a professional percussionist who has been playing for 30+ years. He has traveled internationally performing with some of the most diverse bands and genres spanning from electronic dance to traditional world music. Gilly played in the Denver based band Kan'Nal. He's a member of award winning ensembles in Colorado and has collaborated with national and international acts such as DJ Cheb I Sabbah, Ayla Nereo, Indrajit Bannerjee, Ron Miles, Davood Azad, Miguel Espinoza, and many more. He is also the creator of the business Nautilus Cajóns, building and selling top quality cajones worldwide. Watch Andy in action on YouTube. Gina Fontaine, creator of Tribal Beat and veteran movement leader is dedicated to making movement a fun adventure. She has been teaching yoga and fitness for three decades throughout the Metro area. Her passion for drumming began in college, and she has sought out drum circles wherever she goes. Tribal Beat went on a 5 year hiatus since its inception in 2017, when Gina co-facilitated with Israeli master percussionist, Amir Yakobi.
