Learn about Passover and how to successfully create a meaningful Passover Seder for your family. The JCC, in collaboration with the Sherry and Alan Leventhal Center for Interfaith Families, would like to invite your family to join us for Seder in a Box to learn about Passover, the most commonly celebrated Jewish holiday. A family-friendly version of Seder in a Box will be held on Sunday, April 3 at 4:00 PM. Rebecca Kitchens, the director of teaching and learning at the JCC Nursery School and Pre-K, will lead the children in activities while Touro Synagogue Rabbis Bauman and Silverman, along with Cantor Margulies, walk parents through the Seder. Rabbi Josh Pernick from Congregation Beth Israel will lead the program on Monday, April 4. Held at 7:00 PM, this session will also be interactive, but is designed for adults participants. Samples of some traditional Passover foods will be served and all who attend will leave with a box filled with Passover treats. Admission is free and open to the community. A reservation, mask and proof of vaccination are required.
