Music & Conversations in "Histoire du Tango" with Stefano Miceli, Piano and Monika Krajewska, lyric voice on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 7pm Appia Entertainment Productions LLC in partnership with the Greenwich Arts Council is proud to present the acclaimed international pianist and conductor Stefano Miceli with the stirring lyric voice of Monika Krajewska. An intellectual itinerary in music - voice and piano duet - to feel the beauty of the "Tango Style" and the use of the voice in its power and passion. Astor Piazzolla, Gardel, Albeniz and Kurt Weill are some of the composers selected from the elegant voice and piano duet. Ms. Krajewska and Mr. Miceli will play elegant tango arias and masterpieces from the 1800-900 musical repertoire in an extraordinary Voice and Piano Duet version. Stefano Miceli will talk about creative and emotional approaches to the classical tango music repertoire. and he will help the audience to interact and comprehend the meaning behind the works. Monika Krajewska, Mezzosoprano Praised by the New York Times for her “rich and strong tone that expresses not only beauty, but a luminous sense of peace with comfort”, mezzo-soprano, Monika Krajewska is an internationally renowned and exceptionally versatile performance artist. Winner of numerous vocal competitions, including the Giuseppe Verdi Prize at the International Palm Beach Opera Competition, Rosa Ponselle International Vocal Competition, MacAllister Award, Sembrich Kochanska Vocal Competition of New York, National Teachers Association Opera Competition, and Amici Competition, Monika has sung with orchestras, opera houses, and music festivals around the world performing under the batons of renowned conductors such as Alberto Zedda, Anton Coppola, Will Crutchfield, Anton Guadagno, Bruno Aprea, Craig Fleisher, and Keri-Lynn Willson. Her signature roles include Carmen, Cenerentola, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Charlotte in Werther, Marina in Boris Godunov, and Olga in Eugene Onegin. As an educator, Dr. Krajewska taught voice classes for Yale University undergraduate students, and served as a lecturer at the Connecticut College. Stefano Miceli, Piano Mr. Miceli is one of the foremost italian conductors and pianists around the world. He has earned the applause of audiences at Berliner Philharmonie, Sydney Opera House, Leipzig Gewandhaus, La Fenice Opera in Venice, Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall, and Carnegie hall. Miceli dedicates part of his time in teaching and directing the Greenwich Piano Institute, and at Adelphi University as a faculty member . He is the Music Director of the Adelphi Symphony Orchestra. He has been the Principal Guest Conductor at the Leipzig Philharmonic and at Cameristi della Fenice in Venice, and Music Director of the Orchestra Sinfonica Italiana. Currently Miceli is the President and the Artistic Director of the Milano Metropolitan Orchestra, Artistic Director of the Young Artists Philharmonic, Music Director of the Adelphi Symphony Orchestra and founder of the Greenwich Concert Series “Music & Conversations” for his Greenwich community and music lovers. Mr. Miceli is a recording artist for Appia Records USA and Steinway Spirio Recording.
