You get to see the farm production from compost making to the delivery of of the Mushrooms, followed by 10 minutes of harvesting your OWN! Dames, We are excited about our April tour to Mountain Meadow Mushrooms. This is a 45 minutes activity. We will see the farm production from compost making to the delivery of the mushroom, followed by 10 minutes of harvesting your OWN mushrooms! Your harvest will include about 2 lbs. of freshly picked mushrooms; white button and/or crimini (depending on the availability of the product). Place: Mountain Meadow Mushrooms TOUR AND HARVESTING Address: 26948 N. Broadway, Escondido, CA 92026 Date and Time: Saturday, 4/16 at 9 am (Arrive by 8:45 am) Feel free to carpool. Business hours: Mon-Fri 7am-2pm Saturdays 7am - 3pm) Cost: $25 (plus Eventbrite fee) DRESS CODE according to our food safety guidelines. Applicable to all participants: • Closed toe shoes are required. • No tank tops or spaghetti straps and no shorts. • No jewelry (wedding bands OK) Mountain Meadow Mushrooms Farms, Inc. is not responsible for any lost personal belongings, including jewelry. Safety First! WE ARE A FARM! Come prepared to walk on uneven grounds. Possible stairs depending on the area you will be assigned to harvest. Area depends on the availability of the product. Production houses contain a lot of moisture so floors may be wet and slippery. Established in 1952. Mountain Meadow Mushroom Farms, Inc. is 1 of 100 mushrooms farms across the nation and the only mushroom farm in Southern California. It is in the rural area of northern Escondido. Mountain Meadow Mushroom prides itself in growing the freshest mushroom in the market today. They are USDA organic, pesticide-free and Primus GFSI certified. The farm specializes in white button mushroom, crimini and exotics like; shiitake, oyster, king trumpet, maitake, reishi, turkey tail, cordyceps, pioppino, and lion's mane. These mushrooms can be purchased separately in varying quantities. FREE MUSHROOM COMPOST TO THE PUBLIC! Can bring your own buckets to load yourself for free. Trucks/trailers can be loaded for $30 per load. Delivery service within 10 miles of the farm, up to 10 yards, is a flat fee of $120. Anything beyond 10 miles it is $50 Base Fee plus $9 per mile. GROWING KITS. Our Mushroom Growing Kits make great gifts. Most kits yield 3-5 pounds of mushrooms. They are easy to grow and come with instructions. Varieties include: Shiitake, oyster, king trumpet, pioppino $20.00 each and lion's mane and reishi $30.00 each. LIMITED CAPACITY We look forward to seeing you at the tour!
