Description

We will be splashing into HIV/AIDS Awareness & we want your youth there! Enjoy an evening of education, food, music, and waterpark fun! This is event for students in grades 6th -12th only! The evening will consist of HIV/AIDS Disease Awareness presented by various community partners and will be presented in a fun filled setting. Students will be engaged in age appropriate discussions on the HIV/AIDS disease, statistics among youth and young adults, disease contraction, symptoms, and prevention. There will also be a segment presented by the Dallas County District Attorney's Office on the laws of sexting with a brief Q & A session to follow. Students will be provided a meal during the session and will be released to enjoy the water park once the session has ended. Students who are eligible to register to vote will be able to register at this time. Epic Waters will be open to the general public on the event day and registered attendees must sign in at the designated check in area. Students will be escorted to the event room and must remain in the event room until the session has ended in order to receive a meal and participate in the waterpark activities. The host will remain onsite until the waterpark closes but assumes no responsibility of attendees once the session has been dismissed. Parents that want to sit in during the education session must purchase an admission ticket through EPIC Water Park. Our goal is to seat as many students as possible which will make parental seating limited and on a first come basis. A consent and photo/media release form will be emailed to the registered email to be completed by the parent or guardian of the registered attendee. Completed forms must be returned by email no later than April 6th to prevent seat release. We have had so much fun over the years educating the youth and we are looking forward to seeing your youth at this annual community event. Our objective is to keep our youth safe and informed through evidence based education and to assist in lower youth statistics within Dallas County! See you soon, Sharla Wooten Sharla D.
