The Gear Makers Fest celebrates VT's equipment & gear manufacturers. The fest includes a makers fair, gear repair clinic & gravel ride. Presented by Sterling College & Ranch Camp With support from Dirt Church Brewing, Green Mountain Club, and Rasputitsa Field Repair Kit Clinic - Free 15 participants w/ a waitlist 9:30am - 10:30am Anna Dye, a Sterling College student, and Josh Bossin, Faculty member will be co-leading a field repair clinic with help of other Sterling Work Program students. Participants can expect to learn what to carry in a basic field gear repair kit and how to use those items. Participants will make a small stuff sack to become their field repair kit and leave with the kit complete and filled with starter repair goodies. Skills include: nylon patching, hand sewing, buckles, and more. Free of charge event. Run What Ya Brung Gravel ride - $65.00 150+ participants / Proceeds to benefit Sterling College 9:00am - 1:00am Join the Ranch Camp, Rasputitsa and the Dirt Church Brewing crews for a 32mi gravel ride out to Stowe's fringe and beyond! 35 participants will be selected at random and receive $65 off 2023 Rasputitsa entry! Riders will navigate a .gpx route out of the valley and into the mountains on a series of dirt roads, double track and even some select singletrack. Stop, snack and imbibe at the Dirt Church aid station with a stellar lineup of local food and beverage products before returning to the Fest for lunch and the Makers Fair. Gear Repair Station - Free(unlimited participation) 11:00am - 5:00pm Free gear repair services (open for length of event, first come first served, donations welcome). Visitors to the event can come to the repair booth with outdoor gear/clothing to be repaired for free. We will prioritize completing as many repairs as possible (only if time allows will larger/more complex repairs will be taken) All items must be clean! Common repair types we accept: Stuck or misaligned zippers, nylon with rips, puffy coat holes, broken backpack buckles and straps, seam failures. Some stoves, tents, snowshoes and other hard goods can be repaired on a case by case basis. We will not repair: Jeans, workwear, worn out knees, etc. Gear Makers Festival (unlimited participation) 11:00am - 5:00pm Companies who make outdoor gear in the state of Vermont are invited to come to the event and set up a farmers market type booth to showcase and sell their products. No charge for booth space, but must help with marketing of the event. Rasputitsa x Dirt Church "Rule #1" Beer Collab' Launch (unlimited participation) 3:00pm - 6:00pm Unveiling, giveaways, prizes, music, and fun!
