FREEHOLD, NJ - Whether it's a vacation, a night out or simply peace of mind, we all have our list of items to look forward to when the pandemic is finally over. Bruce Springsteen has a few ideas, too. His first stop? Freehold's Jersey Freeze, of course. "When this is over, I want to get an ice cream cone at the Jersey Freeze — to walk inside, step up to the counter and say, 'Soft vanilla dipped in chocolate, please,'" Springsteen recently told AARP magazine. Clearly it's a spot The Boss has been missing. According to the Freehold location's owner As reported by the Asbury Park Press, co-owner Matt Cangialosi typically observes The Boss vying for a vanilla cone with a chocolate-dipped hard shell. While the owner anticipates the Freehold native's return, Jersey Freeze (which has been open since 1952) will continue to tout burgers, sandwiches and wings at the Manalapan Avenue spot through the coronavirus pandemic. An ice cream-only site is also located in Holmdel's Bell Works. He additionally listed a visit to Federici's Family Restaurant, the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach and Jack's Music Shoppe in Red Bank as post-pandemic go-to spots, per the Asbury Park Press. In a May episode of the show, the Boss also noted that he's going to throw the "wildest party you have ever seen" when the pandemic is all over. "As hard as it is to believe right now … you will once again hug and kiss family members at your gatherings," Springsteen said. "You will shout over the noise of a crowded bar to order a drink and to speak to your friends. You will buy a hot dog at Yankee Stadium. You will walk through the streets of your hometown free and easy. You may hold a complete stranger on a crowded dance floor, and 50,000 people will once again scream their heads off somewhere in New Jersey." "All I can tell you is, when this experience is over, I am going to throw the wildest party you've ever seen," Springsteen added to AARP. "And you, my friends, are all invited." Thanks for reading!
