Description

You know you're a bird person when you're doing house chores with a parrot clamoring up and down your arms, just generally making the process harder, but you don't bat an eye. You've gotten used to going through life one handed with traces of poo on your shoulder and possible hearing loss. Because a squawking toddler with feathers who's gonna live well beyond your 50's is the coolest little buddy ever right? It is for some. For others, life gets in the way. I work from home with rescued birds whom have become my life in all the best ways. I have prior experience working as a vet tech, animal trainer and even have a bachelors degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. To be clear, I am not an official rescue. Just a person with a passion for parrots, animal training and rehabilitation. Contact me if your feathered family is in urgent need of a new home. TEXT is best. ALL PARROTS UNDER MY CARE ARE: -Fed a varied diet of quality pellets and fresh 'chop' (a mix of fresh fruits, veggies, grains and legumes) daily. -Showered (or misted) daily. -Given new, shreddable cage toys monthly. Along with new toys on stands and around hang out areas. -Weighed frequently. -Taken to a certified avian vet. -Given basic training. (All training is done using a clicker and positive reinforcement.) -Given a safe home environment. All cookware, household cleaners, house plants, metals etc are bird safe. No scented candles or aerosols. House has two top of the line air filters always running. -Outdoor aviary under construction for eventual free flighted outside time. (The sun is necessary for feather health.) -I firmly believe in keeping parrots 'engaged not caged' thus, my birds spend the majority of the day out of their cage socializing with me or my other birds within bird safe spaces. NOTE: I prioritize quality of care so space is limited based on how equipped I am to handle your parrots needs. I cannot accept every parrot. Please understand, I must take every bird I take in to an avian vet for bloodwork before introducing them to my current flock. Due to the expense of this, if you are unwilling to waive the rehoming fee or include their cage, I cannot accept your bird.
