Enjoy an invigorating bike ride and fresh air while learning about the past, present, and future of the Atlanta BeltLine project Celebrate Phoenix Flies 2022 with an invigorating 10-mile bike ride on the Atlanta BeltLine Westside Trail and the newly completed first segment of the Southside Trail. Enjoy fresh air and exercise as your knowledgeable guides lead you on a tour of these trails and the historic Atlanta neighborhoods they pass through. Atlanta BeltLine Bike Tours are a program of the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership. Tours start and end at the Lee + White development on White St. in West End. Ample free parking is available. After the tour, feel free to stay and enjoy the many amenities Lee + White has to offer.Tours are led by trained volunteer guides familiar with the Atlanta BeltLine project and the neighborhoods through which the trail passes. There is also a sweep who trails behind, making sure the group stays together. Both guide and sweep are experienced cyclists familiar with bicycle safety and etiquette.Participants should be at least 13 years of age, comfortable riding a bike, and capable of completing a 10-mile route with several stops over relatively flat terrain. There are a few moderate size hills to deal with.Tours start promptly at 9:00 a.m. and end by 12:00 p.m. Please plan to arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. to check-in. Tell them you're signing up for an Atlanta BeltLine bike tour.Group size is capped at 20 participants.Bring along water and any snacks you would like during the tour.There are several stops during the tour where your guide will share information with you.Tour highlights include the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum, Westview Cemetery (entrance only), the Westview commercial district, Washington Park, Murphy Crossing, Aluma Urban Farm, Pittsburgh Yards, and multiple Art on the Atlanta BeltLine installations. Special historical content will be added specifically for these Phoenix Flies tours.
