Wild Food is a collaboration between chef + farmer, with a menu built on a whole system approach to eating what’s fresh and local.
In celebration of Earth Day, Chef Philip Speer (Comedor) and Trisha Bates (Urban American Farmer) are launching a dining experience that brings us closer to the source of our food.
Wild Food debuts in Charleston, SC at Mercantile & Mash with a five-course menu by award-winning Chefs Philip Speer and Jeremiah Bacon on Thursday, April 21st. There will be two seating options, 5:30 PM or 8:00 PM. Guests may choose either a meat-based or plant-based menu, paired with selected wines or spirit-free beverages.
Wild Food presents ingredients collected from Charleston area farmers, foragers, and fishermen. Dine with the purveyors who brought us fresh ingredients that morning, and hear the inspiration behind their work and craft. This unique dining experience expands the “farm to table” movement, inviting the farmer to the table.
Profits will go to Ben's Friends and Feed the Need. Wild Food hopes to raise $10,000 through the dinner series for these valuable organizations.
Wild Food Dinner Series is supported by our incredible partners, Yeti and Rambler Sparkling Water. We are grateful for our partnership with Indigo Road Hospitality, the Mercantile & Mash team, and Ben’s Friends.
THE INSPIRATION
Wild food is the healthiest, most sustainable source of nutrients on our planet. In the coming years, we will continue to see a shift away from homogenous grocery store varieties to the undomesticated food of our ancestors. Wild Food Dinner Series is an original experience that hopes to inspire participation in our local foodways.
*During check-out, you can select a Meat-based or Plant-based menu, and Wine or Non-alcohol Beverage Pairings for each guest.
