Description

Hello strangers. Struggling to work with a pup? don't understand what your dog is trying to say? Family doodle got you down? Rescue not the shiny dream you hoped? If you're frustrated, confused, embarrassed or at the end of your rope with an animal don't hesitate to reach out. I have ten years experience with training, rehab, and rehoming of difficult cases due for euthanasia at shelters ranging from abuse, anxiety, neglect, aggression, reactivity, OCD behavior, separation anxiety and of course basic training. I'm first aid certified, have experience with just about every species of kept animal, and am a master herpetologist (the study of reptiles and amphibians) Most trainers say they will get your dog in tip top shape, but it's the owners I'm focused on. All the training in the world won't help your dog reach it's potential if you don't know how to work with your animal once the trainer leaves. Your dog needs to learn to trust when it has a need you will meet it if it knows how to tell you, and you need to know how to tell it what you need it to do, not eventually, but when you say it. Any trainer can teach a dog to sit and stay, but knowing your animals behavior and the root cause of it's issues will ensure life-long results. I do home visit assessments with your animals, design a training plan around their nature and needs, work with them one on one to lay foundations and work with you to build a bond and learn how to build up a shared language with your animal so they know what you want not out of fear or meaningless repetition but communication. A trained animal will come when it's called, a bonded animal would walk through hot coals to do so. Training is a bonding experience where the dog learns to understand you, if someone else is listening to your dogs needs and body language, doing ALL the fun stuff, teaching them a new way to play via training, building their trust, and learning to respect them and their leadership with tasty treats on top...why would your dog ever listen to you better than them? Prices start at $35 per hour for puppy training ranging up to $75 for aggressive or difficult cases. I also offer consultations $35 flat fee, if your animal has minor issues or you just need some tips I can help simplify things, be in contact to help give tips and send you the right resources. I also do drop in pet sitting, walking for well socialized dogs, and can offer husbandry advice for birds, reptiles and rodents to get you on the right foot with your furry, feathered, or scaled family members.
