The Black & Brown Connect Mixer (B&B Connect) will be part-professional, part-social and all about creating a collaborative network. “One who walks with the wise and successful shall be wise and successful” -African Proverb If you were able to join us for the first Black & Brown Connect Mixer* at WL Socialhouse back in January, you know it was a vibe! We welcomed the entire spectrum of professionals and leaders — from entrepreneurs, to CEOs, to elected officials, to business and community leaders. The atmosphere was warm, engaging, and refreshing. You are invited to join us at the next Black & Brown Connect Mixer coming Thursday, April 21 from 4:30p – 6:30p at CityScape Event Center in downtown Kalamazoo. The Black & Brown Connect Mixer is part-professional, part-social, and all about creating a collaborative network where we can connect and share and make an impact together. No matter what field you’re in, you can count on engaging and relevant discussion, leadership and other personal development opportunities, hearing from community leaders and mentors, and leave feeling energized. Going forward, each Black & Brown Connect will include some socializing and networking but will also include a facilitated discussion around topics that are specifically relevant to Black and Brown communities. Coming this April, we will host a conversation on leading as a professional of color. We’ll cover topics including: Navigating the systems of today’s workplaceBuilding and leading teams of other races and culturesAuthenticity and advancementTickets for this event are only $20 and include the facilitated leadership discussion, heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts, a drink ticket, and covered parking.
