A 5k charity walking event to honor the memory of a great man and raise awareness about black pilots in Detroit. THE EVENT: A 5k walking event, sponsored by the Black Pilots of America, Gilbert A Cargill Chapter, to honor the life and legacy of a champion, our very own Pilot Calvin A Morrison, Jr. OUR VISION: To celebrate his contributions and to raise awareness about black pilots in Detroit and all the children who dream of learning how to fly. OUR MISSION: Promoting healthy pilots with sharp minds, strong bodies and inspiring children who have a desire to learn more about the exciting careers in aviation. OUR PURPOSE: This yearly event is given to educate our future pilots of the importance of exercising daily and making healthy dietary choices. Encouraging them to keep their bodies strong, lowering the risks of heart disease, diabetes and other health conditions due to unbalanced eating habits. Come on out and celebrate with his children, family and friends of our hero, Calvin A Morrison, Jr at this 2nd Annual 5k Walk!. THIS EVENT IS FREE TO THE COMMUNITY!
