Grow with us at Keep Growing Detroit Farm! Our volunteer hours are a great opportunity for individuals and small groups (fewer than 10 people) to volunteer with us at KGD Farm. Volunteers will lend a hand with transplant production, planting, harvesting, and other general farm maintenance. Please find additional volunteering guidelines below. Covid policy: We ask that unvaccinated volunteers wear a mask fully covering their nose and mouth while volunteering at KGD Farm. All volunteers are encouraged to practice physical distancing and wear a mask if a task requires working within 6 feet of volunteers and staff. Volunteer activities will take place outside or in a hoophouse with the doors and sides open. What to bring: We encourage volunteers to bring reusable water bottles in an effort to reduce waste and plastic at the farm. We have gloves and garden tools available for everyone. Volunteers are also welcome to bring their own. What to wear: Please dress for the weather! Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty/wet/muddy. We will work outside rain, shine, or snow. We will cancel volunteer hours if there is extreme weather such as high wind speeds, heavy rain or snowfall, temperatures exceeding 95F or below 32F, or thunder. Photo policy: It's okay to take photos of the farm and plants. Please ask permission before taking pictures of staff or other community members on site.
