Help Clean Up Danvers For Earth Day

DANVERS, MA —The end of a long, cold winter is bound to reveal plenty of trash and debris that has blown through town amid the fierce, frigid winds. On April 23, the Department of Public Works and the Rail Trail Committee are co-hosting a townwide cleanup day to spruce up the community for spring and summer. The Earth Day event is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to noon. "Clean up Danvers is important not only to help maintain Danvers' beauty but also help promote community pride," the Department of Public Works said."Everyone is encouraged to participate." Those interested in volunteering can become a group leader who organizes their own clean-up group or residents can volunteer solo at Endicott Park, the Rail Trail, Pope's Landing, or another town-owned land. Signup is available here. The DPW will provide supplies, including gloves, blue garbage bags and clear bags for recycling. Supplies can be picked up at the DPW offices at Town Hall, 1 Sylvan Street the week of April 1 during normal business hours. More information on the event can be found here.
