Job Summary: The University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a Custodian I! This position provides cleaning and sanitization for the University Memorial Center (UMC) Custodial Services to provide a welcoming learning and social environment. This position is responsible for the daily cleaning, weekly deep cleaning, and seasonal cleaning projects of the UMC. At times, this position will perform emergency clean up duties. Who We Are: The University Memorial Center is the heart of campus at CU Boulder. As the student union, we have 10,500 people through the building every single day of the academic year, provide office space for a variety of Student Affairs departments, and offer to host a variety of meetings, workshops, events, programs, conferences, dining options, and the CU Book Store. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be: Clean UMC Public Areas: Clean and sanitize all public areas, including lounges, study coves, foyers, break rooms, entryways, hallways, and stairways. this also includes various office, study, and tenant spaces. Sweep and mop all hard surfaces, vacuum carpets, and empty waste receptacles. Wipe down counters, tables, chairs and all high touch point areas, and dust and clean windows. Clean bathrooms on a routine basis. This includes cleaning and sanitizing bathroom fixtures, wiping down stalls, walls, dispensers, and cleaning mirrors. Restock various dispensers with the appropriate products. Seasonal projects including stripping and refinishing tile floors, shampooing carpets, deep cleaning office spaces including vent-cleaning, wall wipe down, upholstery cleaning of office furniture, and window cleaning. Other Duties as Assigned: Specialty or emergency work or clean-up, which may include clean-up of water or debris, moving and assisting in moving furniture, deep-water extraction, and disinfection process. Snow removal outside of the UMC including sidewalks, patios, and ramps. This includes initial snow removal, applying of ice melt and the removal of the snow throughout the day to ensure areas are open and safe. What You Should Know: This is an in-person position. This position's schedule is anticipated to be Friday through Tuesday, 9AM to 5:30PM, but may change depending on business needs. All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to comply with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement. New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment. What We Can Offer: Hourly compensation: $15.45. What We Require: Six months of related experience appropriate to the job assignment. What You Will Need: A knowledge of the safe use of chemicals, job tools, and equipment. The ability to communicate orally and in writing. An ability to work independently and in a team setting. What We Would Like You to Have: Experience working in a higher education setting.
