DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Forest Preserve is closing all its off-leash dog parks starting May 1 amid the ongoing new coronavirus shutdown. The DuPage County Forest Preserve District manages seven off-leash dog areas. These include off-leash areas in: Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville East Branch Forest Preserve in Glendale Heights Greene Valley Forest Preserve in Naperville Hawk Hollow Forest Preserve in Bartlett Mayslake Forest Preserve in Oak Brook Oldfield Oaks Forest Preserve in DarienSpringbrook Prairie Forest Preserve in Naperville Don't miss updates about precautions in your area as they are announced. The closure comes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its guidelines about pets to suggest that pet owners"do not let pets interact with people or other animals outside the household" and "avoid dog parks or public places where a large number of people and dogs gather," according to the DuPage County Forest Preserve District website.
